Ahoy all!
Woke up late today. Over-slept. Waiting for coffee. Had a crazy dream last night; I was carrying a red plastic bag full of rolled coins. I have interpreted the dream to mean that the Australians must want to pay me in coins when I win “The Best Job in the World!”
I am listening to Walking on a Dream by Empire of the Sun. This Australian band is hitting it big with the myspace crowd, with over 5 million plays. The band is made up of escapist fantasty-pop duo Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore. Their eleborate make-up and eccentric attire is described as a cross between highly stylized Kabuki theater dramas and Blade Runner. Empire of the Sun stands out in the Australian macho bar-band scene as a psychedelic, otherwordly and suitably weird band. What more to ask for on a lazy Sunday.
Sing along and enjoy!
Walking on a dream
How can I explain
Talking to myself
Will I see again
We are always running for the thrill of it, thrill of it
Always pushing up the hill
Searching for the thrill of it
On and on and on we are calling out and out again
Never looking down I’m just in awe of what’s in front of me
Is it real now
When two people become one
I can feel it
When two people become one
Thought I’d never see
The love you found in me
Now it’s changing all the time
Living in a rhythm where the minutes working overtime
We are always running for the thrill of it, thrill of it
Always pushing up the hill
Searching for the thrill of it
On and on and on we are calling out and out again
Never looking down I’m just in awe of what’s in front of me
Is it real now
When two people become one
I can feel it
When two people become one
Is it real now
When two people become one
I can feel it
When two people become one
Catch me I’m falling down
Catch me I’m falling down
Don’t stop just keep going on
I’m your shoulder lean upon
So come on deliver from inside
All we got is tonight that is right ‘til first light
Is it real now
When two people become one
I can feel it
When two people become one
