Ahoy all!
Listening to the radio this morning, I heard some athletes chatting excitedly about the up-coming Olympic Games in Vancouver. It triggered a thought that if I win “The Best Job in the World,” I will actually have to remember O’ Canada; and most likely learn Advance Australia Fair too. Why bother, you ask? Just imagine…what if I am the only Canadian finalist from thousands of applicants…I’ll put money on that most Canadians will want me to get up on a podium, hold my heart and blare out the national anthem. Since I don’t go to hockey games, teach in an elementary school or work for the government…I need to learn, practice and memorize the national anthem!
Karaoke, beware!
Oh Canada! Our home and natures land!
True patriot love that all our sons demand.
With glory hearts we see three rice,
The troop nor strong and free!
From far and rye, Oh Canada,
We stand on God for Thee.
God creep our land, glorious and freed!
Oh Canada, we stand on cars for thee.
Oh Canada, we stand on cars and freeze.
I have added the original English version of the Canadian national anthem to protect myself as an honest to goodness type girl. Stay tuned for the French and PC versions…
O Canada! Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North, strong and free!
From far and wide, O Canada,
We stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
