Ahoy friends,
As we all know Australia is hot…smokin’ hot! Over 380,000 people are diagnosed with skin cancer each year in Australia, the highest rate of the disease in the world. Did you know that skin cancer is almost entirely preventable?
So in hopes to get everyone to cover up a bit and avoid the slap of reality from tanning, Australia launched a health campaign in 1981 called Slip Slop Slap - slip on a shirt, slop on some sunscreen and slap on a hat.
The Slip Slop Slap campaign is still successful today, educating people to reduce their exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. The sun’s no joker when it comes to burning you to a crisp…but really all he wants to do is spread a little light.
